OTA Offered Research Grants
1) Directed topic research grants:
- rhBMP-2 ($65,000/year, 2 - 3 year funding cycle)
- Clinical Study: ($50,000/year, 3 year funding cycle)
This clinical study will be solicited through a request for proposals (RFP) in the following areas:
| - Psychological effects/distress of orthopaedic trauma |
| - Outcomes of common injuries |
| - Effectiveness of limited/percutaneous fracture treatment |
| - Extreme fractures of the tibia: rods vs plates |
| - Damage control |
2) The following grants are available for any research issue related to musculoskeletal trauma , excluding product development.
- Clinical Research Grants ($40,000/year, 2 year grant cycle)
- Basic Research Grants ($25,000, 1 year grant cycle)
- Resident Research Grants ($10,000, 1 year grant cycle)
Note: Resident grant applications will not require full preproposals, but will be short full submissions. Resident grants will be offered twice yearly (see deadline dates below).
For all grant applications, excluding resident grant applications:
- Preproposal deadline: April 1st
- Accepted preproposals will be invited to submit a full grant application, due August 15th.
