OTA Offered Research Grants

2012 Grant Awards (Funding begins January 1, 2013)
You may apply in more than one category if applicable.

The following grants are available for any research issue related to musculoskeletal trauma (excluding product development)
      * Clinical Research Grants ($40,000 maximum/year, 2 year grant cycle)
      * Basic Research Grants ($25,000 maximum/year, up to 2-year grant cycle)
      * Resident Research GrantNote: Resident grant funding level has been increased to $20K effective with the January 2013-December 2013 funding cycle.

         Note: Resident grant applications will not require full preproposals, but will be short full submissions. Resident grants will be offered twice yearly (see deadline dates below).

The clinical use of rhBMP-2 ($65,000/year, 2-3 year funding cycle)
             *Note: the rhBMP-2 grant is restricted to clinical research.
Clinical studies ($50,000 maximum/year, 3 year funding cycle) in the following areas:

  The Economic Impact of Obesity and Diabetes on Orthopaedic Trauma
  Fracture healing in osteoporosis (primary and secondary)
  New Technology for Management of Orthopaedic Infection

Full Grant Application
Preproposal Deadline: March 12, 2012
Full proposal invitation notification by: May 14, 2012
Accepted Full Proposals Deadline: July 9, 2012

Resident Grant Deadline: June 25, 2012
Grant Cyle: January 2013 - December 2013
