orthopaedic traumatologist.
Geisinger Wyoming Valley:
- Is a multi-specialty group practice and 177-bed
community hospital with tertiary services, including a Heart
Hospital, Neurosciences Program and Frank M. and Dorothea
Henry Cancer Center (a joint program of Geisinger and Fox
Chase Cancer Center).
- Utilizes a mature, fully-integrated electronic health
record, connecting a comprehensive network of more than 40
community medical groups and an integrated network of over
650 Geisinger primary and specialty physicians.
- Recently broke ground on a major expansion program that
includes a $60 million Critical Care Tower that will
include a helipad, expanded ED, and new O.R.s that are
equipped with robotic interventional equipment.
Department of Orthopaedics:
- Consists of 20 surgeons system-wide, including 16 based in
Danville and 4 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley in Wilkes-Barre
- Offers a multi-disciplinary approach to treatment
- Supports an accredited residency program
- Offers the opportunity (not required) to perform research
through Geisinger Center for Health Research and the Weis
Center for Research, both located on the campus of Geisinger
Medical Center
- Contains several surgery trauma teams with a full
complement of physician extendors that handle admissions
- Has experienced rapid growth over the past three years,
having grown from an 8 physician department to an 20
physician department

The Department of Orthopaedics and
Rehabilitation at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical
Center and The Pennsylvania State College of Medicine is
seeking a Board Certified / Board Eligible
fellowship-trained orthopaedic trauma surgeon to join the
Division of Orthopaedic Trauma.
Penn State
Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is the only Level 1
trauma center in the region. Blunt injuries comprise
96% of the clinical volume. There is a substantial volume
of pelvis and acetabular trauma as well as a referral
practice for trauma – related limb reconstruction. Currently
there are three full-time traumatologists in the division,
and we are planning on expanding to four. The individual
would be involved in resident and medical student
teaching, patient care, and clinical and basic science
research. On – call time is very reasonable and the
salary is competitive. The South Central Pennsylvania
region is a safe, family friendly environment with easy
access to New York City, Philadelphia, and Baltimore.
