Position: Tenure-Track Clinician Scientist for the Division of Trauma

The NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases Department of Orthopaedic Surgery of the NYU School of Medicine is recruiting a tenure-track clinician scientist for the Division of Trauma. The division is seeking a motivated candidate wishing to pursue a career in academic orthopaedic surgery, with a commitment to clinical excellence, resident education and scholarly activity. The position will have the full resources of the Department’s Musculoskeletal Research Center behind them.
The applicant will:
- have completed an accredited trauma fellowship
- have a strong background in basic science research
- assume the rank of assistant professor
- be involved in the clinical and educational programs of the division
- have two days per week of protected research time
- along with mentors further the clinical and basic science research efforts of the department
- participate in coverage at our level-one trauma centers
- be expected to obtain extramural grant funding after 3 years
- be expected to be involved with the AAOS and OTA
