Mt.
Clemens, Michigan
Position: Trauma Ortho Surgeon
MCRMC - Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center
Date Posted: 4/08/08
Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center (MCRMC)
is a 288-bed acute care hospital. More than 460 physicians and
2,000 employees work at the hospital, making it one of Macomb
County’s major employers. The hospital’s teaching program,
with its high standard of excellence, now attracts hundreds
of top students from across the nation. With the level of care
provided to patients and its exceptional reputation, MCRMC
has attracted first-rate surgeons from across the country.
These experts are offering technologically advanced options,
including open-heart surgeries, neurosurgery, and numerous
orthopedic procedures. MCRMC is proud to be one of a handful
of hospitals in the Midwest to have an orthopedic oncologist on
staff.
The renovated Emergency Department,
dedicated in 2003, offers 24 private exam rooms, seven open
treatment areas, and three trauma rooms. In 2002 and 2004, a
six level parking garage was added as well as the Ted B. Wahby
Cancer Center. In 2005, a 151,000-sq.-ft. surgery center was
completed. The center features world-class amenities along
with state-of-the-art technology and has eight huge
operating rooms, 16 pre-operative rooms, and nine recovery
rooms. The center uses the “Unicell” cart system, which
contributes to the 14-minute turn around time between operative
cases. The surgical staff is also proud to have a 100%
on-time record. The hospital is one of the few in Michigan to
use the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, a revolutionary
device that allows surgeons to operate with greater precision
using smaller incisions.
The new trauma orthopedic surgeon will join
four orthopedic surgeons in private practice. Call is 1:7,
with the orthopedic residents taking first call for the
emergency department. The opportunity to teach is
available as well as the option to invest in the ambulatory
surgery center in Utica. For optimum convenience, the
clinic is located across the street from the hospital. As the
practice continues to grow at a rapid rate, the group is looking
to add several more surgeons over the next few years. This is
due in part to the group having an excellent relationship with
the community and hospital. An exceptional compensation and
benefit package is being offered. Contact Jill Washburn at
800-243-4353 or
